Needle Felt Love

Crazy as it seems....I had never heard of needle felting until "No" began waldorf school!? I feel a little ripped off as I was the 6 year old embroidery queen and learned to knit at 8 (never progressed beyond doll blankets sadly) I probably would have liked it. Anyway I have several talented needle felter friends and as I have zero aptitude for it, I look to them to fufill my felted needs.

These beauties are just a sample of what the hands of my fibre artist friend LaLa can do. I'm very excited because she is creating a piece just for me! Yay!

LaLa hails from Nova Scotia and can take credit for dubbing me "SilliCon"...I changed the "i" to a "y" for optimum numerology (and to decrease the association with breast implants).

I love her work, it is very reflective of her colourful soul, and so energetic it makes me vibrate, she is one of the most inspiring peole I know. You can have the pleasure of experiencing LaLa and her wares in many Nova Scotia galleries and the Wolfville Farmers Market. Check her out!

Me and LaLa at Peach Berserk (sigh)
